Why Families Choose Us

A Calmer Approach to a Complex Subject

We keep things straightforward — no jargon, no pressure, no advice that requires a licence. Just clear information and practical help with your records.

Plain Language Throughout

Every session and document uses everyday English (and Malay where helpful). No dense legal vocabulary, no confusing acronyms — just clear explanations.

Strictly Educational — Not Advisory

We provide general information only. We will always direct you to the appropriate licensed professionals or official bodies for any personal or formal decisions.

Records Stay With You

All documents and files we help you organise remain entirely in your possession. We do not retain, store, or share your personal records.

Sensitive, Unhurried Approach

Legacy planning touches on deeply personal matters. Our sessions are calm, respectful, and move at a pace your family is comfortable with — no pressure at any stage.

Malaysia-Specific Context

Our content reflects how estate matters are generally handled in Malaysia — covering relevant official bodies, common processes, and local terminology familiar to Malaysian families.

Practical, Usable Outputs

You leave each session with something tangible — a checklist, a structured folder, a summary index, or a set of clear questions to bring to your solicitor or estate planner.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly does Bequestly do?
We offer educational sessions and practical document organisation support. Our role is to help you understand how estate matters are generally handled in Malaysia, and to help you organise your own personal records clearly. We do not give legal, financial, or professional advice, and we do not represent you in any formal process.
Do I still need to see a solicitor or estate planner?
Yes, for any formal steps — such as writing a will, setting up a trust, or managing an estate after a bereavement — you will need to consult a licensed solicitor or an authorised estate administrator. We help you understand the general landscape and arrive at those professional consultations better prepared and more informed.
Is this service suitable for both Muslims and non-Muslims in Malaysia?
Our educational content covers general estate organisation principles applicable across communities. We note that estate distribution for Muslims in Malaysia is governed by Islamic law (Faraid) and administered through specific bodies, while non-Muslims are governed by civil law. We provide general orientation and point you toward the appropriate official bodies for your particular situation.
How long does a session typically take?
The Legacy Planning Orientation is typically a single session of around 2–3 hours. The Estate Document Organisation service usually requires 2–4 meetings depending on the amount of records involved. The Comprehensive Family Legacy Programme spans multiple sessions over several weeks, at a schedule that suits your family.
Are sessions conducted in-person or online?
We can accommodate both. In-person sessions are held at our Kuala Lumpur office (Level 6, Wisma Central, Jalan Ampang). Online sessions via video call are also available and work well for the educational components. Please let us know your preference when you get in touch.
What happens to my personal documents and information?
Your documents remain entirely in your possession at all times. We do not retain copies, store your personal records, or share any information with third parties. Our role is simply to help you organise what you already have, using structures and checklists that you keep and control.
What is the cost and how do I pay?
Programme fees are RM 540 for the Legacy Planning Orientation, RM 2,000 for the Estate Document Organisation Service, and RM 4,300 for the Comprehensive Family Legacy Programme. Payment details and scheduling are confirmed after your initial enquiry. We are happy to discuss any questions you have before you decide.
